Denver Installation Services: Attention to Detail

It’s the day you have been waiting for. Once we have designed, cut and fabricated your stone, our team of installers will prepare to install your stone. Granite and Marble Designs is qualified and capable of creating a beautiful stone installation.

This process requires attention and detail. We use quality control and our StoneDoneRight™ Approach to make sure the job is done right. We have installed hundreds of stone applications in bathrooms, kitchens, restaurants, and hotels among Denver and the surrounding areas throughout the years. Our stone installers know how to install and handle each of our stone materials:

Regardless of the complexity or size of your project, Granite and Marble Designs is prepared to take it on. Our design consulting and stone fabrication processes are the key to a successful installation, which is why we take the time and extra measures during each process.

The Stone Installation Process

Installation can end up being costly if not done correctly. Granite and Marble Designs expert installers know what it takes to get your stone installed seamlessly. Our stone installation process includes:

  • Demolition
  • Transportation
  • Template and Layout
  • Fitting
  • Final touches

Our team will begin installation promptly following the timetable for your project. Alongside the installation process, demolition will have taken place prior. The template for your project is used and referenced throughout each phase – designing, fabricating and installing. Our installers use the template to translate your cut and fabricated slabs into your stone design for precise placement. The slabs are then laid into place and any adjustments are made. Proper fitting and finishing touches are also made as a part of this process.

Demolition

The demolition phase consists of removing any existing countertops, backsplash or vanities. Our team offers this to ease the installation process and eliminate time gaps in your project.

Transportation

The handling of your stone can make or break it, literally. Our installers transport your stone using company trucks that have straight edge equipment and tools to support your stone and get it safely to its destination. During transportation, your stone is most vulnerable. This is where it can scratch, chip, crack or even break. We know how to handle each material and what it takes to get it to you.

Template and Layout

During installation, the template provides digital imaging of your project, which our installers print out and use to know how and where your stone should be laid out. The template is an exact replica of your stone design. This will also identify where any cutouts in the slab are for your sinks, appliances or fixtures.

Our installers precisely align the stone for a flawless finished product. We lay out the slabs of stones and carefully line up any veining or streaks so the finished product appears as a single piece of stone. In this phase, installers will also make certain that your countertops or stone application is leveled using leveling devices.

Fitting

For precise fitting, any appliances or fixtures should be on-site and in place before beginning installation. During the fitting phase of your stone installation, we make sure the fit is snug and make any necessary adjustments. In some cases, stone will need to be cut or trimmed on-site for a better fit.

Final Touches to Your Stone

In addition, we bond all seams and work to make all seams as invisible to the eye as possible. Many other stone installers do not produce the quality that we do and take the time to hide the seams. These extra details set us apart from our competitors. Once set and installed, we will apply a sealant to your natural stone to preserve its beauty and longevity. We also clean and polish your stone so it is ready for you to fall in love with.

After these final touches, we will need you or a representative on-site in order to sign-off on the finished installation.

Preparing for Your Stone Installation

To best prepare for your installation, we ask our clients to clear all walkways and create safe entry in order to access the work site. These stone slabs are extremely large, heavy, delicate pieces. Eliminating any potential hazards is important to ensure the install will go as planned.

It is also a good idea to remove anything fragile between the walkway and the worksite as well as covering furniture. Our team covers the flooring and cleans up any debris left behind; however, dust particles may travel during this process.

In order to install your stone countertops, any cabinetry or islands need to already be put into place and secured to support the weight of your stone material.

What We Need On-site

For a proper fit, we ask our clients to have appliances and fixtures on-site that are a part of your stone project. These include your sink, stove, fridge, dishwasher or any other fixtures in the design of your slab, in order to properly fit your stone. If you do not have one of these onsite, we will need the exact measurements.

Plumbing and Electric

Granite and Marble Designs team does not connect or disconnect any plumbing. So, in some cases, a plumber is necessary during the installation process. Electricians are not often needed, but may be necessary if electrical switches or outlets run through the stone application. Our team will communicate with you prior to your installation if any of these arrangements are needed.

Average Installation Time

Installation time varies for each project and depends on the size and complexity of your project. For smaller projects, this process typically lasts 2 to 3 hours. Larger projects may take up to 7 hours to complete. Commercial projects often vary and can last more than a day. This will be determined when coming up with the timetable for your overall project.

Why Make Granite and Marble Design Your Stone Installer

All stone is difficult to cut, fabricate and install. What makes a difference is having the knowledge of what you are working with, and using the right tools and equipment to work with it and handle it. Some stones are very fragile, and we have to take extra precautions when moving it by using straight edges to prevent it from breaking or cracking.

You can only learn these nuances through years of experience, and trial and error. You cannot treat each stone or product the same. If you try to, it will cost you. Even though the installation process is the same, the handling of each of our stone materials is different. Granite and Marble Designs has what it takes, and more, to complete the installation of your next stone design project.

Each of our installers in the shop have at least five years of experience in the industry. Our knowledge and expertise in installation is transparent through each of our stone projects. We are able to carry out our StoneDoneRight™ Approach during this process through quality control and tailoring to our clients. This approach guarantees that your installation follows our guidelines and as a result, exceeds your expectations.
