About Us

Michael Clifton, the owner of Granite & Marble Design, was born in Elyria, Ohio. However, he was raised in Colorado since he was 2. Michael graduated from Jefferson High School in Edgewater, Colorado. He has a 31-year-old son and a 1-year-old grandchild.

Michael has an eclectic and varied work experience, including managing a pizza shop, doing door-to-door sales, managing a pawn shop, retail formalwear sales, and managing a toy store. His father ran a silver mine and was a brick and stone mason. Along his work journey, he did sales at a stone fabrication countertop company. Michael caught the “stone bug” and consequently held many positions at other fabrication companies.

Seventeen years ago, Michael decided to start his own company, Granite & Marble Design. He wanted to offer high-quality products and services, which he felt were lacking in the industry. Michael takes pride in the relationships he’s built and has many customers from over a decade ago. His business philosophy is, “Where service and quality are as solid as our product.” You can count on that at Granite & Marble Design.
