GraniteGranite is one of the hardest and most durable options for stone countertops. Some sealing is required for maintenance, but granite offers the largest color selection and a wide range of prices.
MarbleMarble typically features random veining and adds an elegant touch to any room. As it is a softer stone, it is generally not recommended for high traffic areas such as kitchens.
LimestoneLimestone is a natural stone that is softer and more porous than a granite. Limestones can be easily scratched and therefore are more suited for bathrooms and other low traffic areas.
OnyxOnyx formed as stalactites and stalagmites in cave interiors. This gives it a translucent crystalline structure that can be back lit for a dramatic focal point.
TravertineTravertine is similar to limestone, however it is the land formed version generally found in ancient riverbeds. Colors are typically soft and earthy. Due to its softness and porosity, it is better suited for bathrooms and low traffic.
SoapstoneSoapstone is a non-porous natural stone. While it does not require sealing, many people prefer to apply a mineral oil to deepen the color. Soapstone can scratch but can be buffed to render scratches nearly invisible.
